MY NECK OF THE WOODS was a live documentary created in partnership with internationally renowned digital artists Blast Theory, which I managed on behalf of the Truth about Youth programme at the Royal Exchange Theatre.
Set on the streets of Manchester the event was part performance and part live-stream video experience in which a group of young people broadcast live from their own communities, discussing topics of importance to them and asking the online audience a series of questions. It created a unique opportunity for online audiences and the young performers to connect with each other on a new and intimate level – breaking down barriers and creating space for dialogue and discussion across the generations and between communities.
MY NECK OF THE WOODS won a 2014 Silver Lovie award for digital innovation and creativity in the Events and Live Broadcasts category.
