Royal Exchange Theatre (2010 – 2014)

Theatreworks is a Royal Exchange Theatre creative training project run annually with Our Lady’s RC High School (Manchester). The project aims to use theatre processes and practice to equip young people with skills, confidence and knowledge that will help raise their aspirations and improve their employment prospects.

Each year a group of 20 students work collaboratively with theatre makers, filmmakers, radio artists, animators, composers and photographers, and take part in a range of workshops exploring the job market, advertising, debate, story creation and character development. In addition, the project develops a plethora of soft skills, including team work, public speaking, self-confidence and self-motivation.

Between 2010 and 2014 I managed the partnership, and the relationship with supporters PwC, including the development of a new evaluative model which was used to measure the impact of project activity.
